David Marten Guthoff founded Hanseatic Strategy Network. His career spans public finance management, international development, and geoeconomics. Before founding Hanseatic Strategy, he advised the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) at GIZ on finance and emerging technologies. At GFA Consulting Group, he managed international projects, strengthened governance frameworks, and built resilient systems. He also contributed expertise on blockchain and innovative financing for sustainable development.
With a master’s degree in public finance management from SOAS University of London and a bachelor’s in social economics from Universität Hamburg, David combines academic rigor with practical experience. As a fellow at Helsinki Geoeconomics, he explores the intersection of strategy, power, and economics. His work reflects the Hanseatic values of trust, independence, and long-term reliability—guiding leaders to anticipate risks and seize opportunities in uncertain environments.
